truly.  underwhelming.

a few things that did stand out:

on the pro side

• i love the display
• i love the iphone/ipod touch interface, so using this thing would be just as fun
• the pricing points weren’t as bad as i thought they’d be
• if the suggested battery life is true, that is amazing
• super thin

on the con side

• seems like just a bigger iphone/touch
• get nickel and dimed by buying accessories (a stand/charger, camera kit, keyboard to connect to, adding expansion slots…etc – can you imagine the price after finally buying everything?)
• the ebooks app (ibooks?) doesn’t seem as functional as i expected it to be, maybe a hands-on demo will prove me wrong
• no stylus to use, like most tablets have?
• still no multi-tasking, as of now
• no cd/dvd drive

i definitely won’t be buying a 1st gen one unless i get a super deal on it like i got for the 1st gen iphone.  i may go with a 2nd or 3rd gen iteration.  i’m not falling into that stupid trap again.  we’ll be seeing the ipad 4g, then 4gs or something within the next couple of years.  i can wait until then…unless a really good deal comes along…

i can still get 6 hours of sleep if i sleep right fucking now.
