home
I do miss home, a lot. I had an especially strong feeling of homesickness as I went to my school this morning and it was an inexplicable feeling to me. I was able to go through the day and manage but if this is what Thanksgiving feels like – I can’t imagine what Christmas and New Years are going to do my sanity if I don’t find something to do.
Otherwise, my experience in Japan is wholly positive. The food is awesome although I haven’t tried anything ’weird’ yet – I’m sure there are those who would feel less than adventurous if they were in my place though. I did try the Ebi Filet-O sandwich today at the McDonald’s that’s about a one minute walking distance from my school. It is delicious.
I can’t believe it’s already been over three weeks since I left the States to live my new life.
Hmm, in short I:
- had an awesome time during training
- visited Akihabara, Harajuku, and Ueno
- ate at Coco Ichiban, numerous yakitori [?] places
- think the students/staff at my school are quite awesome
- am freezing my ass off in my apartment…that is until i finally realized that there is a heater after all…oops
- am losing weight, i think. i do eat, but not as much as i used to back home. just enough to keep me going throughout the day. onigiri, tea, juice, tofu, coffee…that’s about all i consume – for now.
It’d be nice to see a familiar face…in person, not in some picture. in the next couple of weeks i will visit a few friends from training and go do random things and stuff. i can’t wait.
i definitely need warmer clothes…
