well then, i should be doing something productive that is higher on my list of priorities at the moment, but instead i decided to peruse the saitama prefecture [site | wiki] a bit.

a few prefectural tidbits:

• mascot is the コバトン (Kobaton) [site]
• flower is the primrose [site]
• tree is the ケヤキ (keyaki) [wiki]

some festivals that look interesting:

• yabusame in moroyama town [site]
• chichibu night festival in chichibu city [site]

and during my first month’s stay, i will check these spots out:

• saitama super arena [wiki] – of special note here will be the john lennon museum and games with either the saitama broncos (basketball) or urawa red diamonds (football)
• 大宮盆栽村 (Ōmiya Bonsai-mura) [wiki] – because bonsai trees are dope (new hobby idea!)
• chichibu shrine [wiki] – one of many i’ll visit

the excitement, she gets crazy!
